Since the start of the ROK and US military aircraft maintenance program in 1978, Korean Air has grown into the largest military aircraft maintenance facility in the Asia-Pacific region, having delivered more than 4,700 military aircraft. We established and maintain a cooperative relationship with ROK and USG military to support the comprehensive maintenance of military aircraft, from F-4, F-15, F-16, A-10, UH-60, to CH-47, and more. Lumir is the first Korean company to successfully develop and manufacture this onboard equipment, delivering superior performance and significant cost savings compared to competitors’ products. By integrating non-volatile NAND flash devices into the image data handling unit, storage capacity has been significantly increased, with data retention maintained even when the power is off.The image data handling unit of the satellite is a core device that receives high-speed, large-capacity data output from Earth observation sensors mounted on the satellite—such as SAR or optical cameras—then compresses and stores the data in real time, while also performing encryption and encoding for transmission to ground stations. Lumir has successfully developed and manufactured this satellite-mounted device domestically in Korea for the first time, breaking reliance on imported technologies. This achievement secures Lumir’s competitiveness by delivering superior performance and significant cost savings compared to foreign products.

The engine features advanced Full Authority Digital Electronic Control (FADEC) and an integrated Engine Monitoring System (EMS) to keep tabs on engine health, monitor usage and streamline troubleshooting. Modular design makes the engine faster and easier to repair, enabling maintenance teams to put training instructors and student pilots where they belong, back in the air, quickly and efficiently. Safety is paramount in the flight training world and the T-100 provides an additional safety margin by using two F124 engines. The F124 offers all this and more, backed by the global resources of Honeywell and a reputation earned in producing some of the world’s best turbine engines over more than six decades.
