EMCORE’s SDI170 IMU is designed as a performance-compatible inertial system that is form, fit, and functional with a legacy RLG-based IMU product, but with superior overall performance, versatility, and a significantly higher MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) rating over ruggedized environments. The tactical performance of the SDI170 IMU is based on EMCORE’s mature, proven, dependable and accurate quartz MEMS inertial sensor technology in our SDI500 tactical-grade IMU. EMCORE’s quartz technology enables repeatable high-volume production of precisely machined sensor structures combined with the inherent large signal output and thermal stability of quartz materials. The SDI170 IMU is designed for demanding, mission-critical, rugged environments and ideal for continuous use applications with no wear-out components, highly linear accelerometer performance and longer life compared to competing alternatives. It is constructed with EMCORE’s latest generation quartz gyros, quartz accelerometers, and high-speed signal processing to achieve outstanding precision performance. The solid-state quartz sensors and hermetically sealed IMU construction provide reliable MTBF and a 20-year operating and storage life. METRAVIB PEARL is a miniaturized acoustic gunshot detection system initially designed for infantry and dismounted soldier who is in direct contact with the enemy. PEARL provides the capability of finding in a few seconds and in a very intuitive way the origin of the shots that are threatening them. The PEARL system can be installed, using a Picatinny rail, on an assault rifle, a sniper rifle, a machine gun or multifunction goggles/sights. An intuitive interface composed of directional LED arrows shows the azimuth and elevation of the threat. Compact and wireless, PEARL is easy and fast to get started with.

Side shells, wing shells and fuselage structures are made of CFK, GFK, aluminium or organic sheets and get connected during production. Sealants are used to seal the connection surfaces. These are usually two-component polysulphides, which have to be applied in different geometries. Typical applications are: Fillet sealings, oversealings, interface sealings and seal caps. Due to their properties, polysulfides require very low pressure and shear handling. The compressibility of the fillers contained in the medium requires a high level of expertise and a coherent overall system from material removal to application. With manual application, long production times and high material ejection have a negative influence on the complete process. Complex quality standards are required due to the risk of human error. With the in-house developments of the vipro-DUOMIX from ViscoTec, this process can be depicted fully automatically. The individual nozzle design is also adapted to each application. The result is a controlled dosage in compliance with the specifications and at the same time the highest repeat accuracy.

The D56M differential pressure switch provides high precision measurement across a wide range of low-differential pressure conditions in a package smaller than other units of comparable capability. The membrane senses changes between the “high” and “low” pressure inlets while offering excellent repeatability and high cycle life. Optional hermetically sealed contacts mean the D56M can be well suited when vapor ignition is a concern.
