Global Wideband Connectivity for Mission Success Honeywell’s JetWave MCX satellite communications system delivers the world’s most advanced high-speed SATCOM capabilities needed for the most demanding mission profiles. It enables global in-flight broadband data connectivity on nearly any Ka-band network – including Inmarsat’s Global Xpress (GX) network, Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS), and other commercial and military Ka-band networks – making it truly network-agnostic for the most extensive global coverage. Built on proven, high-speed JetWave technology, JetWave MCX utilizes a wider frequency band (29-31 GHz Tx and 19.2-21.2 GHz Rx), offering access to commercial and military Ka-bands globally. And the dual polarity configuration provides increased bandwidth in high-traffic areas while meeting high-data uplink requirements that military and government operators require. JetWave MCX is designed with “future-proofing” in mind, exceeding current connectivity requirements while enabling expanded customer connectivity needs in the future. For the unique requirements of military and government operators, JetWave MCX can enable a wide variety of mission-critical applications, such as en-route mission communications, real-time weather, in-flight video conferencing, large file transfer, in-flight mission planning and briefings, ISR video transmission, and secure communications. This EGR-Cooler prototype, developed in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Company, was fabricated using EOS Stainless Steel 316L, renowned for its excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical properties in demanding automotive applications. The part was additively manufactured over a period of 64 hours, demonstrating the advanced capabilities of metal 3D printing for precision and reliability. Unlike conventional designs, this innovative component integrates 14 separate parts into a single, unified structure, greatly simplifying assembly while enhancing operational efficiency. The implementation of a Triply Periodic Minimal Surface (TPMS) structure within the cooler significantly improves heat exchange performance and enables substantial weight reduction, meeting next-generation thermal management requirements. The device consists of a power supply, dedicated Iridium and GNSS antenna, BLE, three configurable inputs/outputs, RS232, and CANbus in an environmentally sealed enclosure. Includes an Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) modem that allows remote devices to send and receive satellite messages from anywhere in the world.

Wheels that can drive the tank

Developed and manufactured by MPS Microsystems based on customer specifications, this lens actuator forms an essential component of a laser guidance system for unmanned flying objects. It enables 2 lens groups to be displaced individually over a total range of 48 mm and makes it possible to focus a laser over a distance of several kilometres. The main technical difficulty inherent to this actuator lies in meeting very stringent requirements for alignment between the two lens groups (< 10 µm) and in maintaining a very small tilt of the lenses over their entire stroke (lateral deviation < 2 µm). The key part making it possible to ensure such specifications is a frame machined by milling from an aluminium block, into which the 2 drive systems are fastened. These systems each consist of a Ø16 mm brushless motor and a Ø4 mm ball screw with an axial play of less than 5 µm. Backlash-free and frictionless sliding of the lens holders is ensured by standard L306 linear ball bearings manufactured by MPS Microsystems.
