Integrated Soldier Power / Data Hubs are Personal Area Network (PAN) hub and interconnect systems providing network data access, peripheral connectivity and smart battery power management for dismounted soldier C4ISR electronics in Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) missions, including precision targeting, tactical radio communications, real-time video downlink, night vision technologies, GPS/navigation, blue force tracking, personal computing and smart phone integration.

This miniaturized system allows, depending on the desired configuration, to move very precisely between 1 and 3 sets of lenses over a stroke of several centimeters. The design has been optimized to ensure perfect alignment of the lenses and to minimize their tilt throughout the movement. This optomechanical system mainly consists of high-precision standard MPS and FAULHABER modules, such as brushless or stepper motors, ground ball screws with double nuts and linear ball bearings. It is particularly recommended for focusing a laser over a long distance, for example for the guidance of unmanned flying objects or for communication between flying objects. The number of lens sets, lens size and stroke can be configured at will.

The fully redundant DA 30-HT-D has been developed for applications with the highest reliability demands. The redundant – two channel – design of the actuator allows continuous operation even if one of the two channels has failed. All major components such as the electric motors, control and communication electronics, and power supply are available twice (redundant). The position sensor features a three channel design (for 2 out of 3 voting). Additionally, there are several sensors integrated to provide diagnostic information such as current consumption, supply voltage levels and temperature readings. All major components of the actuator are continuously diagnosed by the microcontrollers of the actuator and its health status can be read via the redundant RS485.

Weibel’s Doppler 3D tracking radars are designed for precise measurements of free-flying objects such as projectiles, artillery rounds, and rockets. The systems are highly effective for detailed debris tracking, range safety tests, missile tests, and space launches. The Cardinal 1280 is a high-definition SWIR InGaAs detector featuring a 10μm pixel pitch. This detector offers high resolution and sensitivity, enabling EO/IR systems to capitalize on the SWIR spectrum for low-light imaging and extremely long-range daytime surveillance, even in challenging weather conditions like smoke, dust, fog, or rain. The Boreas 50 fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) is a highly accurate and reliable navigation technology. It’s the result of over 25 years of development in partnership with two research institutions. The gyroscope uses a closed-loop optical coil and an advanced spread-spectrum digital modulation technique to improve accuracy, stability, and reliability while reducing size, weight, power, and cost. Gyrocompass North-Seeking The Boreas range of fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) can determine heading without needing a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or a magnetometer. By sensing the Earth’s rotation, the system’s north-seeking algorithm can acquire an accurate heading. This is possible in static and dynamic conditions, even at high latitudes. Reliability Boreas 50 has been designed from the ground up for rugged reliability. Both the hardware and software are tested and certified to environmental and electromagnetic standards (MIL-STD 461 and MIL-STD 810H). The precision aluminum enclosure is waterproof and dustproof to the IP67 standard. The system is resilient to shock and vibration, allowing it to be used in extreme conditions.
