The DLR exhibit "Maritime Situation Image" at the Seoul ADEX 2025 uses a VR presentation to illustrate how the use of maritime situation images can be utilised for the protection of maritime infrastructures. Three subject areas are presented and explained: the ‘SeaCat’ autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) concept on object detection in the underwater area, the topic muon tomography, i.e. the use of cosmic radiation (muons) for the tomographic examination of objects such as freight containers, and Distributed Acoustic Sensing (DAS) on the detection of ships and submerged objects using fibre optic cables on the seabed.

The Boreas 50 fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) is a highly accurate and reliable navigation technology. It’s the result of over 25 years of development in partnership with two research institutions. The gyroscope uses a closed-loop optical coil and an advanced spread-spectrum digital modulation technique to improve accuracy, stability, and reliability while reducing size, weight, power, and cost. Gyrocompass North-Seeking The Boreas range of fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) can determine heading without needing a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or a magnetometer. By sensing the Earth’s rotation, the system’s north-seeking algorithm can acquire an accurate heading. This is possible in static and dynamic conditions, even at high latitudes. Reliability Boreas 50 has been designed from the ground up for rugged reliability. Both the hardware and software are tested and certified to environmental and electromagnetic standards (MIL-STD 461 and MIL-STD 810H). The precision aluminum enclosure is waterproof and dustproof to the IP67 standard. The system is resilient to shock and vibration, allowing it to be used in extreme conditions. A rich, responsive embedded web interface provides full access to all of the device’s internal functions and data. Internal storage allows for up to one year of data logging.

The Haigh-Farr Wraparound™ is a self-contained omnidirectional antenna for cylindrical or conical shaped bodies. A single point feed is used and no external splitters, combiners or cable harnesses are required for installation. The antenna is conformal, and may be mounted flush, or on the exterior of the vehicle. Designs are available from 300 MHz to 13 GHz with typical applications including Flight Termination, GPS, Telemetry, Data Links and Transponder. Multiple antenna elements may be combined within the same physical Wraparound™, providing multi- band capability in a single, compact package. Wraparound™ antennas have been flown on vehicles from subsurface sea to space, including high-mach kinetic kill weapons, high-G projectiles and re-entry vehicles. The Wraparound™ has been qualified for use on several high performance vehicles flown on test and launch ranges throughout the United States and Europe. For high aero-heating applications an ablative heat shield may be added to the antenna for additional thermal protection.

QPL certification is a system in which the US government guarantees the quality only for products that have passed strict local company inspections made of 150 tests and verifications under the supervision of the US government. Yeonhab Precision obtained the certification in Asia for the first time after 10 years of application. In particular, with the successful QPL registration for the first time in Asia, Yeonhab Precision is the first and only company in Asia which got the qualification of marking “MS” with the title of “Korea’s first MIL-DTL connector”.
