Description
The FICON was developed specifically for the K-11 Next Generation Rifle for the Korean Army. This system includes a laser range finder, uncooled infrared imaging and fuse timer for the 20mm air burst grenade round. Using the laser range finder, each unit is able to calculate the trajectory to which the grenade round must be fired in order to
effectively hit the target.
The computer automatically calculates a fuse time for the airburst grenade round. The hardware and software in the fire control unit do the work for the soldier. The soldier just has to point the gun where the sight tells him to and pull the trigger. Each unit is mounted directly onto the K-11 Rifle, and provides all the hard and software. There are both day and night optics in this sight, and each rifle has a human detection range of up to 500m.
