Haigh-Farr has been serving the United States Department of Defense and associated defense contractors for the last 50 years with pride. In fact, the first antenna design ever developed by Haigh-Farr was engineered for a tactical weapon meant to protect the lives of American war fighters; and a variant of that antenna is still being delivered and deployed to this day.

The SCXMC-SFPDP is a high-speed optical communication card that operates through the XMC interface of the SBC. It is designed to transmit and receive large volumes of data between the SBC and other devices in real time. Unlike Ethernet, which can be difficult to synchronize, the SCXMC-SFPDP uses optical communication with synchronization signals, enabling precise and high-speed data transfer. It offers low response latency (<40 µs) and supports four transmit/receive channels at 3.125 Gbps per channel. A device driver program is required for operation, and the Linux driver can be downloaded from Seedcore’s product page. Drivers for other operating systems can be developed upon request. This module is deployed in the L-SAM multi-function radar system to ensure reliable real-time data transmission between mission-critical subsystems.

STIM300 is a small, tactical grade, low weight, high performance non-GPS aided Inertial Measurement Unit. It contains 3 highly accurate MEMS gyros, 3 high stability accelerometers and 3 inclinometers. The IMU is factory calibrated and compensated over its entire operating temperature range. STIM300 is a cost-effective ITAR free solution for systems that only had FOGs as an alternative when reaching for the performance level of that STIM300 can offer. Each axis is factory calibrated for bias, sensitivity and compensated for temperature effects to provide high-accuracy measurements. The unit runs off a single +5V supply and communicates via a RS422 interface. The use of a 32-bit RISC ARM microcontroller provides flexibility in the configuration, like choice of output unit, sampling frequency, LP filter -3dB frequency and RS422 bit-rate and protocol parameters. For more advanced users, STIM277H may be put in Service Mode. In this mode all the configuration parameters can be temporarily or permanently changed by overwriting the current settings in the flash memory. Service Mode also provides the ability to perform single measurements, perform diagnostics and obtain a higher detail in the status byte.

Combined laser scan/video scope technology for gun barrel inspection, superior measuring results: With the RIB 4D, Kappa presents a new, high-performance system for large-caliber weapon barrel inspection designed for troops evaluating actual and post-firing status and calculating remaining service life. 3D Laser Scanner and 360° Videos: Within the completely newly designed RIB 4D measuring head, the entire bandwidth of the newest image-generating technology for seamless, complete barrel inspection is used. A supersensitive laser scan generates a detail-rich point cloud. In addition, 8 CMOS sensors provide the viewer with brilliant 360° videos of the barrel’s interior surfaces. The highly precise barrel digitization offers a comprehensive data basis for secure assessment of a barrel interior’s condition. Keeping it simple: only one operator required Simple handling means that just one person can operate the entire system. Independent of the operator, the automatic system delivers clear and reproducible measurement results. The barrel digitization is the reliable data basis for the subsequent location-independant assessment of the barrel condition. The compact system is designed for versatile use. One system for multiple barrel types and diameters RIB 4D is made for smooth and rifled barrels. With adapter rings, the system can easily be used for different calibers. The RIB 4D completes the entire high-resolution and precise measurement of the inside of the gun barrel sensationally fast in under 30 minutes (example Leopard 2), which speeds up and largely automates maintenance for system users and thus simplifies it to a great extent. Interactive Software for Reliable Assessment: The extensive data of the inspected surface is analyzed in the user-friendly application software and can be documented and evaluated as a report according to the service regulation TDv018. The interactive interface supports the detection and measurement of critical damaged areas and the final evaluation of the barrel condition and the determination of the remaining service life. Digitization of the inner barrel surface and precise measurement of damaged areas: The analysis covers erosion, corrosion, damage to the chrome coating including diameter measurement of the fields and lands and groves on rifled barrels. The noxRIB4D software offers two analysis screens, the Heat Map and the Intensity Map, for precise damage analysis.
