Today, space satellites are moving away from RF Analog based payloads providing low speed telecommunication signaling, to a new Digital Transparent Processor architecture for high throughput satellites. Those architectures increase the demand for rugged and higher speed connectivity. To meet those industry needs, Smiths Interconnect has developed the NXS Series, an advanced high speed, high density interconnect to provide next generation data on demand. Equipped with the Hypertac® hyperboloid contact technology the NXS system can withstand data rate application up to 50 Gbps (per channel) requirements, including extreme levels of vibration, shock and climatic testing above 2100 g. The NXS Series is designed in a robust construction with 4 or 12 high speed quadrax (dual-twinax) modules. The recent EMI Flange addition provides the extra benefit of reducing electromagnetic interference. Each ultra-high density quadrax module contains 2 dual twinax at 100 Ω each pair. It is blind mateable, hot pluggable, with ultra-low mating forces and low outgassing materials. In addition, the solderless PCB mount design reduces the customer’s risk and cost of ownership. The connector is mounted after reflow and has no impact on nearby components.

QPL certification is a system in which the US government guarantees the quality only for products that have passed strict local company inspections made of 150 tests and verifications under the supervision of the US government. Yeonhab Precision obtained the certification in Asia for the first time after 10 years of application. In particular, with the successful QPL registration for the first time in Asia, Yeonhab Precision is the first and only company in Asia which got the qualification of marking “MS” with the title of “Korea’s first MIL-DTL connector”. [Cutting by water jet] Micro water jet cutting: The micro water jet enables a refined process to be carried out in precision cutting. This high-precision technology reduces the jet diameter by a factor of 5 and makes water jet cutting more precise by a factor of 10. The micro water jet achieves a cutting accuracy of +/- 0.01 mm and a positioning accuracy of ±0.005 mm. The proven advantages of the cold cutting process remain unchanged. In the pure water process, the cutting width was reduced to 0.2 mm in the abrasive process for hard materials such as nickel-based alloys and titanium. The new technology controls the cutting process and manipulates the cutting path depending on the contour and speed enabling a highly precise cut. Standard waterjet cutting: Water jet cutting is highly efficient and at the same time less severe than other cutting techniques. Low process forces and thermal loads prevent bending or melting. We can cut filigree delicate contours from practically all nickel alloys and titanium alloys. Using our standard process we can cut a range of shapes and dimensions according to customer requirements and drawings and achieve tolerances of +/- 0.1 mm or +/- 0.2 mm.
