Edge-Optimized Object Detection & Tracking Solution
We developed and optimized an object detection and tracking solution tailored for edge environments using Intel Atom platforms with OpenVINO. The system combines MobileNetV3-SSDLite for detection and MobileNetV3-Small for tracking, enabling efficient real-time performance on resource-constrained devices.
Through model optimization and inference acceleration, we achieved over 2x improvement in FPS and more than 50% enhancement in inference speed, all while maintaining detection and tracking accuracy. This demonstrates the solution’s suitability for lightweight, low-power edge AI applications

Ultra-High Accuracy MEMS
Certus Evo features some of the highest accuracy MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes currently available. Certus Evo’s inertial performance exceeds some FOG IMUs and is up to 100x smaller and 10x cheaper. Certus Evo is put through Advanced Navigation’s intensive calibration process to provide consistently accurate data over an extended temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
AI-Based Algorithm
Certus Evo features Advanced Navigation’s revolutionary AI neural network sensor fusion algorithm. It was designed for control applications and has a high level of health monitoring and instability prevention to ensure stable and reliable data.
Dual Antenna RTK GNSS
Certus Evo contains a dual frequency RTK GNSS receiver that provides up to 1 cm accuracy positioning and supports all of the current and future satellite navigation systems, including GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BeiDou and QZSS. Dual antenna heading provides high accuracy heading that is not impacted by magnetic interference and has no motion requirements.
Time Synchronization
Certus Evo contains a GNSS disciplined oscillator that can act as the primary time source within a distributed time system, enabling access to ultra-accurate system time using PTP or NTP network time sync. Certus also has a high-accuracy 1PPS and frequency output.
Multi Protocol Support
Certus Evo features multiple interfaces including Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS422 and GPIOs. Certus supports all the industry standard protocols including NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, TSS, PASHR, Simrad as well as a wide variety of proprietary protocols. It features a rich web UI and 256GB of internal logging.

Our XR-based aircraft maintenance simulator is officially certified by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of South Korea for training and education.
It provides specialized training environments for the A321, B737-MAX, and B737-800NG aircraft, featuring over 80 detailed modules—including procedures for engine removal, main landing gear installation, and more.
This subscription-based simulator is fully compatible with smartphones, tablets, and wearable XR devices, enabling seamless access through a cloud-based web service. Users can train anytime, anywhere—perfect for both remote learning and remote maintenance scenarios.
Compared to traditional classroom learning, the XR platform is 4 times more effective and requires only one-third the training time. It also improves user confidence in real-world technical applications by up to 275%.
By transforming traditional paper manuals into immersive, interactive training environments, the simulator delivers the next generation of aircraft MRO education for both civil and defense sectors.

SAIT CIRUS has been fortunate to receive generous funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI), Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), and Prairies Canada to support the development of our research centre and supporting applied research projects. Our research centre features a diverse and advanced fleet of remotely piloted aircraft, sensors, survey equipment, data processing and modeling software, and hardware. Some of our remotely piloted systems are the only ones in North America, making CIRUS a leading research centre on the continent.
