EMCORE’s SDI170 IMU is designed as a performance-compatible inertial system that is form, fit, and functional with a legacy RLG-based IMU product, but with superior overall performance, versatility, and a significantly higher MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) rating over ruggedized environments. The tactical performance of the SDI170 IMU is based on EMCORE’s mature, proven, dependable and accurate quartz MEMS inertial sensor technology in our SDI500 tactical-grade IMU. EMCORE’s quartz technology enables repeatable high-volume production of precisely machined sensor structures combined with the inherent large signal output and thermal stability of quartz materials. The SDI170 IMU is designed for demanding, mission-critical, rugged environments and ideal for continuous use applications with no wear-out components, highly linear accelerometer performance and longer life compared to competing alternatives. It is constructed with EMCORE’s latest generation quartz gyros, quartz accelerometers, and high-speed signal processing to achieve outstanding precision performance. The solid-state quartz sensors and hermetically sealed IMU construction provide reliable MTBF and a 20-year operating and storage life. Continuous Built-in Test (BIT), configurable communications protocols, electromagnetic interference (EMI) protection and flexible input power compatibility make the SDI170 IMU easy to use in a wide range of higher-order integrated commercial and defense system applications.

D-100 MIL 1&2 operating Instructions.

The SCXMC-HDLC card operates through the XMC interface of the SBC and provides real-time communication for control and status data based on synchronization signals. It supports serial communication via the SBCRTM’s Micro D-sub 37-pin connector using a standard D-sub 9-pin interface, allowing long-distance transmission through LVDS signaling. With four transmit/receive channels, it achieves 1–8 Mbps per channel and delivers low-latency performance of less than 40 µs for real-time operations. A device driver program is required for operation, and the Linux driver can be downloaded from Seedcore’s product page. Drivers for other operating systems can be developed upon request. This module is deployed in the L-SAM multi-function radar system, enabling fast and reliable control data communication across mission-critical components.

The DRU-H-R has growth capacity to add an embedded Selective Availability Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) GPS with M-code capability. It can also be configured to function in unmanned, rotational and shipboard environments. The DRU-H-R is an advanced precision navigation system that provides accurate vehicle position and attitude data. This unit replaced the DRU-H on Paladin and Firefinder, both playing critical roles in supporting U.S. ground forces in all phases of active combat operations. The EMCORE DRU-H-R design upgraded system performance by using high accuracy, combat-proven inertial sensors currently fielded on the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS), High-Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), and Improved Position and Azimuth Determining System (IPADS). This very compact optical system with an original design allows two groups of lenses to be moved in perfect coaxiality (+/- 1µm) over several millimeters. It is particularly recommended for applications requiring a constant alignment precision when moving the lenses. The perfect coaxiality of the lens holders is guaranteed by a common bore machined in a single operation. Numerous dimensional modifications allow a perfect adaptation to the optical design related to its application.
