The FOR-10T/R supports Base configurations (including 10 Taps) and enables long-distance transmission of image signals via optical fiber, along with RS232 control signals and CC1~4 trigger signals. The KF-21 is the project which aims to replae the aged fighters in operation, F-4, and F-5 of the Republic of Korea Air Force and develop the indigenous Korean fighter aircraft which is equipped with performances suitable for the future battlefield of the country's air force. Korea's largest-scaled KF-21 project is the national R&D project with a development span of 10 years and 6 months and is driven with Indonesia under international joint development. Based on its development experience and infrastructure of a homegrown airplane, such as the KT-1 basic trainer, T-50 Advanced Jet Trainer, TA-50 Lead-in-Fighter-Trainer, and FA-50 Light Combat Aircraft, KAI is under development of the KF-21 project successfully. The HXB15 Connectors, featuring expanded beam technology, hermaphroditic connection, rugged construction for field deployment and hybrid configurations, have been designed for harsh environment applications such as military tactical communications, avionics, offshore systems, outside broadcast, mining and plant.

The expanded beam technology uses expanded and collimated beams to couple optical fibers without any contact. It could allow for optics to be used in areas that have been quite restrictive due to presence of damage or contamination at the fiber end. Hermaphroditic connector design enables fast deployment by daisy-chaining multiple cable segments. HXB15 connectors also enable transfer of electrical signal or power using hybrid insert configuration.
