The Nebula connector employs the renowned Hypertac hyperboloid contacts as the bedrock of its high reliability providing immunity to shock and vibration fretting and over 100,000 mating cycles. These features combine with current carrying capacity up to 1.5 Amps per contact and low insertion / extraction forces to provide significantly enhanced quality and reliability performance compared with other more commodity connector solutions. Available for direct mounting to PCB, the Nebula Series supports independent function for all its 22 contacts. It also offers optional quarter-turn locking hardware for faster connector securing and to prevent unintentional separation.

To meet those industry needs, Smiths Interconnect has developed the NXS Series, an advanced high speed, high density interconnect to provide next generation data on demand. Equipped with the Hypertac® hyperboloid contact technology the NXS system can withstand data rate application up to 50 Gbps (per channel) requirements, including extreme levels of vibration, shock and climatic testing above 2100 g. The NXS Series is designed in a robust construction with 4 or 12 high speed quadrax (dual-twinax) modules. The recent EMI Flange addition provides the extra benefit of reducing electromagnetic interference. Each ultra-high density quadrax module contains 2 dual twinax at 100 Ω each pair. It is blind mateable, hot pluggable, with ultra-low mating forces and low outgassing materials. In addition, the solderless PCB mount design reduces the customer’s risk and cost of ownership. The connector is mounted after reflow and has no impact on nearby components.

Dual antenna heading provides high accuracy heading that is not impacted by magnetic interference and has no motion requirements. Time Synchronization Certus Evo contains a GNSS disciplined oscillator that can act as the primary time source within a distributed time system, enabling access to ultra-accurate system time using PTP or NTP network time sync. Certus also has a high-accuracy 1PPS and frequency output. Multi Protocol Support Certus Evo features multiple interfaces including Ethernet, CAN, RS232, RS422 and GPIOs. Certus supports all the industry standard protocols including NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000, TSS, PASHR, Simrad as well as a wide variety of proprietary protocols.
