The Boreas 50 fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) is a highly accurate and reliable navigation technology. It’s the result of over 25 years of development in partnership with two research institutions. The gyroscope uses a closed-loop optical coil and an advanced spread-spectrum digital modulation technique to improve accuracy, stability, and reliability while reducing size, weight, power, and cost. Gyrocompass North-Seeking The Boreas range of fiber optic gyroscopes (FOGs) can determine heading without needing a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) or a magnetometer. By sensing the Earth’s rotation, the system’s north-seeking algorithm can acquire an accurate heading. This is possible in static and dynamic conditions, even at high latitudes. Reliability Boreas 50 has been designed from the ground up for rugged reliability. Both the hardware and software are tested and certified to environmental and electromagnetic standards (MIL-STD 461 and MIL-STD 810H). The precision aluminum enclosure is waterproof and dustproof to the IP67 standard. The system is resilient to shock and vibration, allowing it to be used in extreme conditions. Multi-Protocol Support The Boreas 50 features multiple interfaces, including Ethernet, CAN, RS232, 1PPS, RS422, and GPIOs. It supports industry standard protocols, including NMEA 0183, CANopen, 1PPS, and ANPP, as well as a wide variety of proprietary protocols. A rich, responsive embedded web interface provides full access to all of the device’s internal functions and data. Internal storage allows for up to one year of data logging.

Ultra-High Accuracy MEMS Motus features some of the highest accuracy MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes currently available. Motus’s inertial performance exceeds some FOG IMUs and is up to 100x smaller and 10x cheaper. Motus is put through Advanced Navigation’s intensive calibration process to provide consistently accurate data over an extended temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Miniature Package Never before has such high inertial performance been available in such a small package. Motus consumes just over 1 cubic inch in volume and weighs only 26 grams. This makes it ideal for weight and size sensitive applications. Motus is available in an OEM package suitable for integration into larger products or an enclosed package for external and standalone use. Advanced Signal Processing Motus samples its sensors synchronously at 1000Hz through six individual 24-bit differential ADCs which minimizes noise as well as providing optimal thermal calibration and performance characteristics. 14 separate heavily filtered regulated power supplies ensure that each sensor and ADC is operating off the cleanest possible power supply. Reliability Motus has been designed from the ground up for mission critical control applications where reliability is very important. It is built on top of a safety oriented real time operating system and all software is designed and tested to safety standards with fault tolerance in mind. The hardware is designed and manufactured to mil standards. High Update Rate Motus outputs temperature calibrated sensor data at 1000Hz as well as filtered attitude at the same rate. This allows for control of dynamically unstable platforms.

r-TWR are digital towers which enable the remote use of air traffic services (ATS) from any location. Being at an airport, air base or at a centralised location, distance is no longer a factor. The r-TWR functions can be integrated to a traditional tower as a hybrid solution, and can support the ramp and apron management using the same information. It can also be deployed and put in place when needed. Through the use of digital camera technology and sensors, operators can effectively conduct and manage various services remotely, based on visual surveillance. This removes the need to be on-site and occupying critical space at an airport, in favour of a chosen location.

We developed and optimized an object detection and tracking solution tailored for edge environments using Intel Atom platforms with OpenVINO. The system combines MobileNetV3-SSDLite for detection and MobileNetV3-Small for tracking, enabling efficient real-time performance on resource-constrained devices. Through model optimization and inference acceleration, we achieved over 2x improvement in FPS and more than 50% enhancement in inference speed, all while maintaining detection and tracking accuracy. This demonstrates the solution’s suitability for lightweight, low-power edge AI applications
